4 bedroom, two-storey house plan designed for a 50x100 ft plot, one of the most common plot sizes in Uganda. The clean flat-roof exterior mixes warm terracotta tones with charcoal accents, floor-to-ceiling glass and stone cladding. Glass-railed balconies and layered lighting give the home a polished look by day and night.

Ground floor. The ground floor opens into a double-volume sitting room with plenty of light and height. There are indoor and outdoor lounge and dining areas, and the open kitchen has a breakfast dining area, pantry, laundry and its own kitchen veranda. The ground floor also has a self-contained visitors' bedroom with a veranda, a gym with its own veranda, a general bathroom and a house help room.

First floor. The upper level is the private family space, built around a family lounge with a balcony. It has a home office with a balcony and a master bedroom with its own balcony, a his-and-hers walk-in closet and a master bathroom. There is also a study/prayer room with a balcony, plus self-contained boys' and girls' bedrooms, each with a walk-in closet.

This plan suits families building in Kampala, Wakiso, Mukono, Entebbe or upcountry who want a stylish, functional home on a standard plot. Contact Archbuild to buy the plan and get help with construction.
